“Why bother lifting weights if you aren’t following a sound nutritional regimen? Sure, it may be fun, but are you really accomplishing anything?” -Robert Cheeke
You can lift weights all day and have the perfect routine designed for your body type, but if your nutrition is off you’re wasting your time.
You may be doing everything else right (training, recovery, mindset) and I hope you are! However, if your idea of a nutrition plan is swinging by Biscuitville for breakfast, hitting up the local Mickey D’s for lunch and eating dinner out of a box or bucket…
YOU’RE SCREWED BRO!
You can’t out train a bad diet, no matter how hard you try. Even if you could, you’d only look healthy on the outside, while dying of a coronary on the inside.
Hmm, that reminds me of a poem the Joker touted in the ol’ Batman movie starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson:
“I’m only laughing on the outside My smile is just skin deep If you could see inside I’m really crying You might join me for a weep.”
“When a group of individual minds are coordinated and function in harmony, the increased energy created through that alliance becomes available to every individual in the group.” -Napoleon Hill
“No man can become a permanent success without taking others along with him.” -Napoleon Hill
In this second video by Napoleon Hill you learned that a mastermind alliance consists of two or more minds working together in perfect harmony toward a common and definite objective. By creating a mastermind alliance you can harness the wisdom, experience, training and knowledge of other people, as if it were your own. In this way, both you and the people in your alliance may benefit from combining all of your talents to achieve your goals and purpose in your life.
After watching the video be sure to read on and learn how to apply this principle to your muscle building goals. (more…)
“You don’t build a muscle until you ‘build’ the nerve pathway. What comes first? It starts INSIDE. The muscle is only a BADGE for something else. Look. You’re talkin’ to a guy that is not genetically superior; I’ve always been a hard-gainer. I’ve got every reason to be believed.” – Vince Gironda
Being a Contrarian Bodybuilder isn’t always easy and no one knows that more than Vince Gironda. If you didn’t recognize him right away, he is the man in the picture on the left.
Vince was a legendary bodybuilding icon. His training methods contrasted greatly with the accepted practices of that era and he was very controversial.
Vince is the Original Contrarian Bodybuilder!
Vince “Iron Guru” Gironda was perhaps at the pinnacle of fame in the “Golden Years” of bodybuilding, the 1960’s. During that time, Vince dominated the scene and Vince’s gym, was known as the Mecca of bodybuilding.
Not only champion bodybuilders like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Frank Zane trained at Vince’s Gym, but movie stars were also regular visitors to seek Vince’s training advice. People like Eric Estrada, Clint Eastwood, Clint Walker and many others. Hollywood studios used Vince and his gym to shape up their stars. (more…)

“Successful people move on their own initiative but they know where they are going before they start.”–Napoleon Hill
“Decide what you want, find out how to get it, and then take daily action toward achieving your goal.”–Napoleon Hill
In this first video by Napoleon Hill you will learn the starting point of all human achievement and why it is absolutely vital to have a clear vision of what you intend to achieve in life. Dr. Hill has explained that lack of this definite purpose is like being a ship without a rudder, both powerless and directionless.
After watching the video be sure to read on and learn how to apply this principle to your muscle building goals. (more…)
“What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”–Napoleon Hill
“All the breaks you need in life wait within your imagination. Imagination is the workshop of your mind, capable of turning mind energy into accomplishment and wealth.” – Napoleon Hill
Hey there, hope you’re doing great! I’m pretty excited because this is the first post, in a series of posts, I’m doing on one of my favorite authors and ‘virtual’ mentors Napoleon Hill. Now, if you’re familiar with Napoleon Hill, you know that he is the author of the classic literary work entitled “Think and Grow Rich.”
Napoleon Hill is largely considered to be one of the greatest writers of all time on the subject of success and achievement and many even consider him to be the pioneer of the field of personal development.
His book, “Think and Grow Rich”, was first published in 1937 and has gone on to be one of the best-selling books of all time, selling over 20 million copies by the time of his death in 1970. That number is probably a lot larger now!
These past couple weeks at breakfast I’ve been watching a series of short video recordings where Napoleon Hill is explaining his success principles. Then all of a sudden, the desire to share them with you came over me. A large percentage of you have expressed interest in personal growth and development, wealth building and success strategies and so I think you will find these posts rather interesting and enlightening.
Even so, the majority of readers coming to this site express the desire to grow muscle and therefore I want to tie it back to this goal of ours. For that reason, I took the liberty of adding a little twist to Hill’s original title calling this series of posts THINK & GROW HUGE!!! (more…)
“What one man can do, another can do.” – Anthony Hopkins
“The only limits to what we can create are the ones that we have imposed upon ourselves.” – Brandon Cook
Read the quote above from the movie the Edge, “What one man can do, another can do.” In this movie, Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin’s characters are forced to survive in the wilderness after a plane crash. As they seek to find their way back to civilization, a grizzly bear begins stalking and hunting them down.
After several close encounters with the bear, Hopkins realizes that their only chance to survive is to face the bear and kill it using a spear technique he read about in book.
This technique is very risky and must be executed precisely as the bear rears up on its hind legs and comes down to claim his kill aka YOU!. At that exact moment you wedge the spear into the ground or rocks behind you and allow the bear to impale itself upon the long spear and hope that it doesn’t survive or crush you.
So yeah, it’s pretty risky… but whatchya gonna do when a huge Kodiak bear wants to turn you into a mid-day snack, huh? (more…)
